LTB: What makes a book beautiful?

Hi guys! I’ve been wanting to take part in the weekly meme Let’s Talk Bookish by Rukky @ Eternity Books and Dani @ Literary Lion, and I finally found the perfect one to do.

What makes a book beautiful? There are many elements that make a book beautiful. The cover art, the illustrations, and the story.

Cover Art:

This might be the most obvious of the three things I have here. Sometimes it’s hard not to judge a book by its cover. Some things that I find attractive in a cover are patterns or flowers. I also like dramatic covers. I usually don’t like covers with people on them though. Landscapes, silhouettes, and designs are more interesting.

Here are some covers that I absolutely love:

It might be a bit juvenile, but I still love looking at pictures in books, as long as they’re done well. For books with illustration, what really matters is that the illustrations match with the text, and the artist is good.

The Story:

This might be a bit odd, but I think the story can be beautiful as well. If a story is crafted well, with a good plot, characters, and world, it can be considered beautiful.

All of the pictures are from overdrive except for the pride and prejudice one, which is from pinterest.
